“Hero Of Islam”Dies Along With Others

Just about every day, another “hero of Islam” dies by blowing himself or his vehicle to kingdom come. Yesterday, a van approached the entrance to an Iraqi army base, accelerated, and went straight into a group of Iraqi soldiers leaving four dead and about ten wounded. The man who drove the van is dead, and he is hailed by the website of the Islamic State of Iraq as a hero who is headed for his reward in the wonderful world up in the sky where virgins await his arrival. The same group admitted responsibility for attacking offices of the Arab TV station, Al-Arabiya on grounds it was a tool of the western world. There is something strange about men who love the Arab world, but insist on blowing themselves up along with innocent men, women, and children. They explode their body in a mosque where Muslims are praying and claim the act was ordered by Mohammed. Why, would the Prophet urge the murder of those who are praying is an interesting question that only those who kill can answer?

Throughout human history religions have emerged urging peace and love. But, for those in the Islamic State of Iraq, the Prophet speaks to them in ways he does not speak to other Muslims. We prefer believing the Prophet was a man of peace and social justice, not a man who wants children to be blown up.

Is Cameron A Loudmouth Of A Loudspeaker?

During the past few days, British Prime Minister David Cameron has spoken bluntly to leaders of Israel and Pakistan concerning their failure to work for peace and charged their inaction has resulted in the spread of violence, not in its reduction. David Miliband, former foreign secretary under Gordon Brown, is upset at the manner in which a British leader speaks to heads of state in other nations. Cameron told Pakistan that its government did not have the right to promote the spread of terrorism.” Miliband argues there is a “big difference between straight talking and being a loudmouth.” Fair enough. But, Miliband has to deal with the reality that for over nine years, Pakistan’s government has been aiding the Taliban which results in death for American and UK soldiers. At what point does the prime minister of England keep his mouth shut when effort after effort to gain cooperation from Pakistan have failed? As Cameron notes, “I don’t think the British taxpayer wants me to go around the world saying what people want to hear.”

Barack Obama has refused to speak in honest terms to Pakistan and Israel leaders. They must know continued refusal to assist forces seeking peace will result in action by the United States. David Cameron is finally making clear to men like Netanyahu and to leaders of Pakistan that stubborn refusal to work for peace will result in action on the part of the United Kingdom. Those are not the words of a loudmouth, those are the words of honesty. If people like Netanyahu can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen of leadership.

Strange Deaths In Afghanistan

There are moments in the war in Afghanistan in which Americans are left to wonder what is going on and does anyone in charge have the faintest idea as to daily events in the country. Several days ago, two sailors drove their car into a crowded bazaar area which was known to contain members of the Taliban. They ignored efforts by Afghan security forces to halt their vehicle, continued driving and finally encountered the Taliban who proceeded to kill one, capture the other, and then kill him. Military sources will only confirm the sailors were attending a counterinsurgency school for Afghan security forces, but there is no explanation why the two men drove into a Taliban area without any protection. Jarod Newlove and Justin McNeley are dead. Two more deaths from Afghanistan. Their deaths are for reasons unknown. But, aren’t the deaths of over one thousand Americans also the result of unknown reasons?

What exactly was the reason these two young men drove into a Taliban area? Do their superiors know the reason? Does anyone know the reason? By the way, does the president of the United States know the reason our forces are fighting in a country while our ally in Pakistan is providing weapons and training for those who killed these two young men?

World Getting Warmer-Not For Fox News!

A thousand years from now scientists will examine Fox News in order to understand how their ancestors were oblivious to the growing warmth of the planet. The State of Climate group which consists of 30 scientists from 48 countries, reports there is clear evidence of global warming. “A comprehensive review of key climate indicators confirms the world is warming and the past decade was the warmest on record.” It appears the world gets one-fifth of one degree Fahrenheit each decade which has led to an increase of one degree over the past fifty years. Of course, to climate warming deniers, these statistics are simply an attempt by “liberals” and “socialists” to frighten people into accepting government led initiatives. Check into daily comments from Fox News reporters and it is clear if one adds up their spouting of hot air, world increase in global warming will double in the coming decade.

Deny, deny, and live in a world of fantasy is the reaction to people in the Tea Party and others with their views on the world. The key question is: what will it take to awaken humans to the state of their planet?

Israel Leaders Strike Out Again

Defenders of the government of Benjamin Netanyahu continually respond to any criticism with the always present, “anti-semitism.” It is virtually impossible for an Israeli leader to question their actions, let alone acknowledge a mistake. A former interrogator for Unit 504 of Military Intelligence knows as “Captain George” has been appointed adviser on Arab affairs for the commander of the Jerusalem District Police. Former torturer of Palestinians will oversee the sensitive relationship between the police and the Arab community. Ordinarily, one would expect a person placed in this position enjoys the respect of the Arab community and has a record of working with people in a cooperative manner. “George,” became famous when accused of torture by Mustafa Dirani, who was abducted by the IDF from his home in Damascus and brought to Israel. “George denied any torture although he admitted an Israeli soldier enter the cell of Dirani clad in his underwear and threatened the act of sodomy.

The police insist “there is no link between the previous role played by Major D(George) and his current position.” I wonder how Israelis would react if a former member of the PLO was appointed to assume the role of working in sensitive ways with their community. I am certain someone will respond buy noting that President Abbas was a former member of the PLO. He holds an elective position.

Suspicious Looking People-Stay Out Of Arizona

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, famous policeman from Maricopa county in Arizona, is getting his outdoor prison ready to receive hundreds of illegal Mexican immigrants as the new law kicks in allowing suspicious illegals to be arrested. According to Sheriff Joe, “if there’s a new law out, we’re going to enforce it.” The law allows police to arrest those in the state who are not legal citizens. Arizona guidelines to police are to arrest anyone who looks suspicious, displays signs of being nervous and is in an overcrowded car. We warn moms who are taking neighborhood kids to the baseball field to be on alert for police who undoubtedly will halt your car. Tell kids in the car not to act nervous. Human rights activist Liz Hourican will be marching with her compatriots in order to block the driveway to immigration offices. Her slogan is: “don’t buy, don’t comply.”

A federal judge is expected to rule as to the constitutionality of a state passing laws pertaining to foreign policy issues. Of course, if we pursue Arizona criteria, there are many visitors to America who might wind up in jail rather than at Disney world.

Afghan Army Stranger In Own Land

To most Western military leaders, if you have seen one Afghan, you have seen them all. They all look alike even though Afghanistan is divided into ethnic groups who speak different languages, have varying customs and, in all too many cases, do not like one another. The American operation in southern areas of Afghanistan is confronting the reality that many Afghan soldiers come from northern areas of the country and are members of minorities who were oppressed by the Taliban. They do not speak the same dialect as people from southern areas of the country, and are not welcomed because they are from minority groups. It is difficult finding an Afghan brigade which is not dominated by men from the north. Pashtuns are the dominant group in Afghanistan and most Taliban leaders are from this group. Unfortunately, it is all too common for an Afghan soldier to say, “I am Tajik” while the man next to him says, ‘I am Pashtun.”

Naturally, few American officers learn about these issues until they arrived in Afghanistan. This once again points out poor intelligence on the aprt of Americans and poor intelligence invariably results in poor performance by troops.

Georgia Stripper Assumes Government Position

President Mikhail Saakashvili has a reputation of appointing young men and women to important government positions in Georgia because he wants to get rid of anyone who was around when Georgia was part of the Soviet Union. However, his appointment of Vera Kabalia as the Economy Minister has raised some eyebrows. A photo is circulating on the Internet which depicts Vera and a group of friends at a strip joint and they are posing as strippers. Nodar Dzhavakishvili, former banker and government official, expressed concern that a person who lacks any education or experience in the field of commerce should be given “the position of the head of the main economic body in the country without either the necessary education or any experience whatsoever” can only be construed as an amazing expression of confidence by the president. Of course, that is one man’s opinion, and obviously, not the views of a man who goes to strip joints.

Should strippers be running a nation’s economy? Well, the typical stripper knows how to extract money from men without doing anything other than removing a few layers of clothes. They understand how to get down to the bare essentials and be open about showing the wares of Georgia in a manner that will secure positive reactions from other nations. Take it off, Vera, take off deficits and put on a surplus.

David Cameron Tells It As It Is!

Prime Minister David Cameron became the first western leader to state clearly to Pakistan officials it was time for their secret service agency to cease cooperating with the enemy and become a friend of its western allies. He told a meeting of Indian business leaders that a democratic nation does not have the “right to have any relationships with groups that are promoting terror. Democratic states that want to be part of the developed world can not do that. The message from the United States and the UK is very clear on that point.” When asked to clarify his points, Cameron bluntly stated that a nation which supposedly is working to end terrorism, must understand “that it is unacceptable for any support to be given from within to any terrorist organizations that export terrorism.” It is clear he was referring to the Pakistan ISI intelligence agency which, not only created the Taliban, but continues to fund it and cooperates with its leaders to attack Western armies in Afghanistan.

Naturally, the Pakistan government responded with cries of innocence. Hogwash. The ISI has been working with Taliban leaders to develop plans that result in attacking western troops. Either Pakistan joins the fight against the Taliban and al-Qaeda or it will eventually be take over by these groups.d
