Newt-Please Don’t Go!

There are unconfirmed reports that Newt Gingrich will no longer be seeking the nomination of the Republican party for president. I survived the death of Franklin Roosevelt, lived through the horror of John Kennedy’s death and the murder of Martin Luther King, but awakening to discover that Newt Gringrich will no longer be seeking the presidency is simply a stone too large to bear. Original reports said Newt would suspend his campaign today, but something got in the way.

We have it on reliable sources that Newt was receiving another $100 if he still was campaigning. A hundred dollars here, a hundred dollars there and one could pay for another trip to Greece. Of course the real tragedy is without the presence of Newt Gingrich who can we kick around? Who can we make jokes about? With Mitt one never knows what he will say today, with Newt one knows he will ramble on and on about his brilliance and the stupidity of the rest of the world.

God Bless You Newt. Of course, I doubt if God wants you in his home since he actually thinks He knows how to run a universe. Let Newt get started and he will ruin a universe.

DSK Set Up–By Himself?

Dominique Strauss-Kahn is upset because his path to the presidency of France was interrupted by secret agents under the guidance of President Nicolas Sarkozy. Mr. Sarkozy apparently was concerned that some political opponent could seize the headlines dealing with women and politicians and use that media opportunity for his own political purposes. According to DSK President Sarkozy set in motion a huge political operation which sought to destroy the career of DSK.

“Perhaps, I was politically naive, but I simply did not believe that they would go that far.” He referred to hacking his phone and persuading a  maid that was assaulted by DSK to go to the police. Let me get this clear. DSK rapes a maid in a hotel based on his own emotional needs. French secret agents could hardly organize such an action. But, not knowing that he was going to rape a woman, they then organized the process of having her go to the police and ruin the career of DSK.

Something about this “plot” just doesn’t make sense.

New Rules For Secret Service

Bill Maher may have his New Rules, but so does the American Secret Service. An agent is expected to place his body in front of a bullet aimed at the president which means those who serve the nation may wind up on a slab. Recent incidents in which members of the Secret Service enjoyed the evening with some local prostitutes have somehow annoyed those who run the agency. Thus, new rules.

From now on when secret service agents go out for an evening they will be accompanied by chaperones. The chaperones will be from senior level executives. Another new rule is taking ethics and moral classes. I assume the agent will have his prostitute accompanying him at the classes to ensure when they get together for sex it will be ethical sex.

Boehner: Americans Don’t Want Loser

Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, wants Americans to know that he will vote for the man running for president who has been the most successful in life. “The American people do not want to vote for a loser. They don’t want to vote for someone who has not been successful. Mitt Romney has a chance to show the American people that they, too, can succeed.” We agree with him. Let me offer the story of two men.

Candidate B: Born to mother who was divorced and, at points on welfare.” He worked hard in school, got grants to attend college and secured scholarships for his academic career. Although during his life there was not much money in the house, he worked hard, got a law degree and finally became president of the USA.

Candidate R: Born into a family in which his father was a multi-millionaire and headed a major auto company. Never had to work, all his college costs were paid by dad. The fame of his father ensured he would  be accepted at Harvard. Went straight from Harvard to a company which took over firms, fired people and make a lot of money.

So, which of these men exemplifies the American dream–B or R?

Pakistan Wants What It Cannot Have

The government of Pakistan still believes the critical issue of their nation’s  existence lies to the  east  in India. Most soldiers face toward an enemy that has no interest in war with Pakistan. To the west lies Afghanistan and militants seekking to overthrow the government. The Pakistan Taliban and the Pakistan al-Qaeda  continue attacking civilian, militatary and government entities in order to destabilize the country. The Pakistan government wants to  end these attacks, but it really does not.

Another US drone attack this week killed three suspected “militants” in Pakistan. Most probably those killed were not only fighting in Afghanistan  but in Pakistan. But, the Pakistan armed forces wants to have a strong Taliban in place once US and NATO forces leave Afghanistan because there is fear that India will come in and  take over the government.

So, the fight with the US continues.  The Pakistan government responded to the drone attack. “The government of Pakistan has consistently mantained that drone attacks  are  violative of  its territory and integrity.” So, kill militants who kill our soldiers but do not kill them in Pakistan.

Republicans Play With Life

There was a time in American foreign policy during the 20th century when members of both political parties placed national interest before the quest for votes. Mitt Romney is using the escape of blind Chine activist, Cheng Guangcheng in order to pursue his quest for the presidency. The escape of Guangcheng from his guardians was dramatic and suggested that third parties were involved in the scheme to smuggle this Chinese leader. The wrong questions, the wrong information can result in the loss of life.

President Obama is conducting himself in a diplomatic manner. Wild demands have been uttered by Romney in an effort to come across as “tough” toward China. This may play to the war crowd, but few Americans want conflict with China. An individual who seeks to portray himself as “presidential” might take one opportunity to focus on what is necessary for American national interests rather than his interest in getting elected.

Obama and Clinton have to work quietly with China to resolve the problem without causing the Chinese government to come across as surrendering to American demands. America must avoid making demands. That is the essence of diplomacy.

NOBODY ASKED ME BUT

We offer observations on the human condition from a 21 year old mind trapped in an 81 year old body.

NOBODY ASKED ME BUT

I wonder how and why the shape of our noses evolved.

A child takes the first step, an elderly person takes the last.

She enters, gazes, confused, and sees him, smile and comfort.

Media records human evil. We prefer evil to good on the media.

In modern life, people enter out lives, disappear and eventually reappear.

I dislike when a person leans over and shoves their butt into my face.

The ultimate surprise of life is life.

Facebook deadens, not awakens minds.

Dreams offer hope, reality offers doubt.

We enter this world without material goods and leave likewise.

Chubby boy greets chubby mon, welcome to USA, circa, 2012.

I ran with the wind at age 14, I puff with the wind at age, 81.

In America, private fornication is OK, but make it public, and then…

Some wear pain on face, others in heart.

In all my life no one has ever halted me on the street to inquire what I think about a product. Anti-Semitism?

Some shake head up and down, I keep it steady.

If you do something wrong, apologize with an American flag behind you.

Israel Leaders Lack Trust In Reason

I have been termed by supporters of Israel as a “self hating” Jew because of opposition to the current hysterical group of men who  lead the Israel nation. Former Shin Beit chief, yuval Diskin, blasted Prime Minister Netanyahu. “My major problem is that I have no faith in the current leadership, which must lead us in an event on the scale of war with Iran or regional war. I don’t believe in either the prime minister or the defense minister. I don’t believe in a leadership that makes decisions based on messianic feelings.”

I assume Mr. Diskin will now be denounced by right wing Jewish leaders as a “self hating Jew” who wants to see Israel destroyed. Oh, the head of Israel’s armed forces, Benny Bantz said that “decisions must be made carefully out of historic responsibility but without hysteria.”

Ah, all these self hating Jews who want to avoid war.

Youth-Borrow From Mitt!

Mitt Romney has  excellent advice for the young people of America. He wants youth to  take  chance and draw upon his experience in getting ahead. OK, so his father, George Romney was head of an automobile company, so I can assume the typical young person has the same type of mother or father–millionaire folk. Mitt took a gamble, Mitt got an education and was not left with any debt, so can American youth if they just follow his advice.

“We’ve always encouraged young people. Take a shot, go for it, take a risk, get the education, borrow money if you have to from your parents, start a business.” See, it is easy, just make certain when you are born to have  parents who have a few extra million lying around.

If dad or mom won’t give the money, simply dial Republican headquarters and say you regard Mitt Romney as another dad in your life and would like to borrow a million.
