Recent scientific studies dealing with the age of dinosaurs pose serious issues to the United States of America. Huge plant eating dinosaurs produced enough greenhouse gas by breaking wind to generate enormous quantities of methane. Scientists believe “microbes living in Sauropod dinosaurs could have produced enough methane to have an important effect on Mesozoic climate. An estimated 472 million tons of hot air were generated by dinosaurs.

We are concerned since the United States has millions of Republicans and members of the Tea Party. If you think dinosaurs produced a lot of hot air, just imagine the enormous quantities produced by Republicans and Tea Party folk? Imagine the daily out put of Newt Gingrich alone! We believe there is need for new legislation that will limit hot air comments by any Republican seeking office.

PROTECT THE PLANET, LIMIT REPUBLICAN HOT AIR EMISSION!!!

I recall vividly the fall of 2001 when our gallant president informed the nation that he was sending troops into battle in Afghanistan since we “had to fight them there rather than here.” Fox News charged that anyone who opposed the war was simply a friend of terrorism. That was then, and, alas, now is now. Latest polls reveal that 66% of Americans oppose the war in Afghanistan. About 48% do agree the presence of US troops helps Afghanistan to be stable while 36% say it leads to more instability.

Americans had a love affair with war, with a president who promised to end terrorism and bring democracy to the world. I recall how FOX News smeared the names of an American senator who had lost both arms and legs in Vietnam by charging him with being disloyal. It would be wonderful to show those videos at a time when those who are against the war might be reminded how they were for the war. Ah, but that was a long, long time ago!

Nine long, long years ago, the American people were informed by their beloved leader, George Bush, and the dynamic duo of Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld that we simply had to invade Iraq, not only to destroy the WMD which threatened our existence, but to bring the benefits of democracy to the people of Iraq. We sent in troops, we killed Saddam Hussein, we ended his dictatorship and in the process we forced 500,000 of Iraq’s 800,000 Christians to flee for their lives. Instead of Saddam, they now had the “democratic” government of Shiite leader, Nouri al-Maliki.

Maliki has instituted a reign of terror against the former dominant Sunni community. After allowing a Sunni to become vice prime minister, he then charged Tariq al-Hashemi with creating death squads whose goal was to gain control of the government. Hashemi fled the nation and now will be tried in absentia. He has decided not to attend this trial. “I have a great lack of confidendce and mistrust about the standards of justice.”

I wonder if George Bush during those hours chopping wood ever ponders about the “democracy” he brought to Iraq??

It is not surprising to learn from a new book written by Robert Draper that Republican leaders from day one of the Obama administration planned to oppose any idea proposed by the president in order to make him come across as being unable to govern. As we all know, Barack Obama was naive enough to believe Republicans wanted to work with Democrats in solving America’s economic problems. In Draper’s ”Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the US House of Representatives, he pinpoints a meeting held on January 20, 2009 where Republicans planned to obstruct and refuse to compromise.

The meeting took place at an upscale Washington restaurant, the Caucus Room, and was attended by such people as Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, Keven McCarthy, Senators Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn and John Ensign. Good old Newt Gingrich and strategist Steve Lutz laid out the agenda of obstruction. As one person commented, “we’ve gotta challenge them on every single bill, and challenge them on every single campaign.” They decided to unleash a negative ad campaign against Democrats.

And Mitt Romney blames Barack Obama for the current hostile environment in Washington D.C.!!

American Catholic Bishops agree with many Republican ideas such as opposing abortion or use of contraceptives, but they completely disagree with Republican economic ideas. The Bishops sent a protest about the proposed Paul Ryan budget(Mitt says it is “marvelous”). They were upset at reducing taxes on the wealthy while cutting economic aid to poor people and those on Medicaid as well as college students seeking loans.

It is ironic how Catholic Bishops are so hostile to social liberal ideas dealing with women, but when it comes to social action and concern for poor people and the middle class they line up with liberals. It is sad how their views on women prevent them from becoming a force for social action on behalf of those who are economically hurting.

Many Americans actually believe that members of the US Supreme Court decide cases on the basis of law. The current conservative majority which ensured that George Bush would become president in 2000 because they did not want Democrat Al Gore to win continue their crusade against the rights of poor people, and women. Latest Pew poll results indicate more and more Americans are tired of the conservative bent which rules the day. Only 52% of Americans have a favorable view of the Supreme Court and 29% have an unfavorable view.

It increasingly is clear Americans do not wish the Supreme Court to over rule decisions of the US Congress because they do not like a law. Justice Scalia sarcastically commented requiring all to join a health plan was the first step toward making us eat broccoli. All are compelled to purchase auto insurance, all must have seat belts in cars, and we used to draft all men into the armed forces. Frankly, being forced to eat broccoli seems much nicer than facing enemy fire.

During the seemingly endless series of Republican presidential nominee debates an ongoing topic was concern over hordes of immigrants crossing the border. President Obama was accused of not doing anything to halt this attack of hungry people seeking work. Actually, during the past four years more illegal immigrants have been returned to Mexico than were sent back during the eight years of Bush. For some strange reason, no Republicans or Tea Party folk were upset at failure of George Bush to return immigrants.

Lastest figures indicate at least one million FEWER illegal immigrants are now in the US due to actions by the Obama administration. A combination of deportations, more effective border security and bad economic conditions have resulted in fewer illegals. Border violence and sending illegal immigrants to detention for several months has compelled them to remain in Mexico in order to support their families.

Barack Obama– enemy of the illegal immigrant?

It is rather unfortunate that former President George Bush and his two clowns,Cheney/Rumsfeld, never contacted the Russian government for advice on fighting a war in Afghanistan. The Russians had over eight years fighting and losing in that far away land. Eventually, they just packed up and left. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has decided to offer some souond words of wisdom to US and NATO forces. After all, this is the land which fought in Afghanistan and left with tail between legs.

“As long as Afghanistan is not able to secure by itself the security in the country,” said the Russian sage, “the artificial timelines of withdrawal are not correct and should not be set.” In reality, Russia wants a stable Afghanistan because it fears Muslim militants simply will move on to Muslim areas of Russia. “Please do not leave” is the Russian wail.

Historically, American politics is anything but a vicious fight between opponents who want to pound their enemy into the ground. However, this year is witnessing anger and hate unknown to the world of political dispute. Ted Nugent, a rocker, is proud of hating Barack Obama who he terms to be, “vile,” “evil,” “America hating” and most probably an African immigrant who seeks OUR presidency. Mr. Nugent believes “there are some power-abusing, corrupt monsteres in our federal government that despise me because I have the audacitgy to speak the truth.” He compares himself to a “black Jew at a Klan rally.”

Naturally, Mitt Romney seeks the support of this hate speaking individual. Mr. Romney has one goal in mind-winning. He has already provided evidence the Devil himself is being courted for support. Mtt would sell his soul for a vote, what would he be willing to give up for a few hundred votes–his wife?

We offer observations on the human condition from a 21 year old mind trapped in an 81 year old body.

NOBODY ASKED ME BUT

Baseball is the only sport played in three seasons of the year.

Some claim to be “children of God.” How come no aunts or uncles?

I have concluded that God regards Earth as a botched experiment.

I never put more than two Equals into my coffee.

In the end, how we judge ourselves is the only judgment worth a damn.

I doubt if any human figured out the exact moment his pen ran out of ink.

In any group of elderly folk, one speaks with authority.

The US is 24th in life expectancy but Americans boast of their wonderful health system. The purpose is not to get well, it is to LIVE!

Women have a habit of touching their right hip when walking.

Needed new medical specialty, Doctor of Butts.

I chronicle life, some chronicle death.

As I write in the coffee shop some glance toward me.

Tall men stride into a shop with a look of determination.

Death is the last opportunity to express love–so, say it!

There are times in life when silence is the loudest statement one can make.

I was raised to openly argue politics. Not a nice thing in the Midwest.

A white haired woman has permission to speak with anyone.

Bad news: you are dead.Good News: never again have to listen to Rick Santorum speech.

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, the administration of President George Bush decided to invade Afghanistan, destroy the Taliban government and then do –something. The something was not very clear to Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld, and this failure to have a plan to create a viable Afghanistan remains the issue of today. Instead of rebuilding the nation, Bush diverted forces and energy to destory WMD that never existed. Barack Obama inherited this mess and despite serious efforts it remains a mess.

Over the weekend, Taliban forces launched a series of attacks in Kabul as well as in provincial cities. They used heavy weapons, suicide bombers and fought in the heart of the capital. A spokesperson for the Taliban said the attacks were planned for two months and demonstrated “we are strong and can attack anywhere we want.” Unfortunately, this is a true statement of reality.

The future is unknown. Apparently, Afghan forces responded to the attacks quite well. Who knows, perhaps they can handle the Taliban.

Former President George Bush is a bit peeved because liberals continue to attack his famous tax cuts. George is convinced they were the right thing to do and any intelligent president would have done the same thing because reducing taxes on wealthy folk is the road to economic success. “Most small businesses pay tax at the individual income level, therefore if you raised taxes on the so-called rich, you’re really raising taxes on the job creators.” Just reduce taxes and jobs will emerge.

I am confused. Bush dropped the top level from 39% to 36%. When the tax level was at 39% under the Clinton administration twice as many jobs were created. The tax rate was higher under St. Ron Reagan and more jobs were created than under the Bush administration.

Oh, the “so-called rich”–top five percent own 25% of our nation’s wealthy. They are not “so-called” they are RICH!

The underlying belief of Republicans is that businessmen can be trusted to do a superior job than any government organization. Of course, the US armed forces during WWII did NOT allow private business to function in war zones. Thus bridges were built in a day, the Alaska Highway completed within a year, and airfields constructed under enemy fire. Former President Bush and his cronies, Rumsfeld and Cheney, were certain “government employees” lacked the skills and competence of private enterprise. The Iraq was the first war contracted out to business.

Many of those who served in Iraq are now suing companies like KBR for allowing poisonous materials to be used and thus endangered their lives. Soldiers sickened at a water treatment facility run by KBR have just discovered that a deadly toxin was used in massive quantities and the result has been serious illness. Eight million pounds of sodium dichromate were used leading to breathing problems and cancer.

KBR denied this usage in 2003, but now acknowledge the truth of what occurred. A military spokesperson described KBR behavior as “deliberate, calculated concealment.” I am certain Ron Paul will soon blame “the government” for this behavior.

These days to be a member of the Republican party serving in Congress it violates your sacred duty to admit doing anything wrong. You must believe that Democrats and the foreigner who currently serves as president is always wrong about everything. After all, Democrats are Muslims who come from some far off African nation. Representative Paul Ryan charged General Martin Dempsey, head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, of lying when he said the military budget proposed by President Obama was adequate for military needs.

Ryan called General Dempsey to apologize for saying the military was not giving its ‘true advice” on the Obama military budget. This budget allocates $614 billion which is more than ALL military budgets of nations of the world. It is interesting that Army generals under former President Bush gave in to his demands for conformity except for Army General Shinseki who told the truth about Iraq plans and was forced to resign.

Rick,Mitt, and Newt condemn the foreign policy of President Barack Obama in dealing with the Afghanistan war. In fact, Newt even wonders why this president got us involved in the war. From his viewpoint, the Afghanistan war is “risking the lives of young men and women in a mission that may not be doable.” As far as Mitt and Rick are concerned, it is all the fault of President Obama. They are shocked that he set a date to end the presence of American troops in Afghanistan.

Wait a second. As I recall, it was George Bush who sent US troops into Afghanistan. Perhaps my memory is playing tricks but I recall how Newt and Rick and Mitt hailed the great leadership of President George Bush who launched wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I simply do not recall a single comment from Mitt about”failed leadership” about George Bush in Afghanistan which he now hurls at Barack Obama.

The tragedy of Sergeant Robert Bales has no simple conclusion. He committed a terrible crime for which one can not “explain away.” Yes, he had four deployments, yes, he was wounded, yes, he witnessed and experienced horrible sights, but in the end, there is no excuse for killing innocent women and children. During the coming years, writers, psychologists, theologians, and countless others will offer explanations for these brutal murders, but, what Bales did was NOT unusual for those who lived in the 20th century. Check out any book on the Holocaust.

After the end of WWII, trials were held to hold those accountable for the incredible horrors of the war. Unfortunately, the Iraq War and the Afghanistan War, have not led to any such trials forBates must stand trial, but what about George Bush, Dick Cheney or Don Rumsfeld?

Most intelligent life forms are rather confused as to who are these people who term themselves, “Republicans.” They believe the Christian President Barack Obama is a Muslim who was born in Africa. They cheered war in 2003 and now blame Democrats for the war and wonder why Barack Obama got us into these conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. They believe in fiscal responsibility which led them to double the National Debt from $5 Trillion to $11 Trillion. This blog has been able to uncover the reason for this bizarre behavior and thinking.

Chinese scientists have uncovered in a cave in China evidence of the existence of a group of humans who were neither Cro-Magnons nor Neanderthal. It is now clear Republicans are descended from Red Deer Cave People. They look like humans, they speak like humans, and they breed like humans, but their mental thinking is definitely Red Deer Cave. Logic simply is beyond their abilities when confronted with situations. They retreat into fantasy.

After all, who but a Red Deer Cave person would sing like Mitt Romney??

I recently encountered on my Facebook comments from Ron Paul supporters who want to impeach President Barack Obama for sending aid to Libyan rebels. Ironically, some Ron Paul supporters have the mistaken view that Thomas Jefferson was not for a strong national government and cite him as someone they respect. I hate to tell Ron Paul or his supporters but the first president in our history who sent men to war without a declaration of war was Thomas Jefferson. It gets worse. He sent naval and marine detachments to crush the Barbary pirates and guess where US soldiers landed–LIBYA!

Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Wilson, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, Johnson, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush sent troops into combat without a declaration of war. Black skinned Barack Obama sends aid to Libya, no Americans die, white skinned George Bush sends 5,000 to their deaths and 35,000 wounded. So, who do Ron Paul supporters want to indict? BLACK SKINNED OBAMA!!

Ron Paul admits his newsletter printed anti-Jewish articles, his son, Senator Rand Paul says he would have voted against the Civil Rights act of 1965 which gave equal rights to women and black Americans.

Ten long years ago then President George Bush, to thunderous applause by conservatives in America, sent thousands of young men and women in our armed forces into war. Instead of completing the job of destroying the Taliban, Bush walked away from that task and prepared for a war in Iraq to destroy WMD that did not exist. Ten long years of service in a country run by kleptomaniacs whose only interest is self interest rather than focusing on destroying the Taliban.

A 38 year old sergeant went crazy and killed women and children in a village. We do not know his reasons. There is no justification, no fall back on “stress” to excuse this act of terrorism. He belonged to the Stryker Brigade which previous,t had soldiers also kill innocent Afghans. There is no justification for these deaths and most probably whatever explanation offered by the sergeant will lack validity. But, when do we hold responsible government leaders who sent men and women into battle for the wrong reasons?

During the past hundred years of American history no one went broke betting on the pervasive ignorance that prevails in the state of Mississippi. New polls taken among members of the Republican Party in that state reveal 66% believe President Obama is a “Muslim” and 36% are no sure if he is or is not. Of course, 60% do not believe in the theory of evolution. In their view, Barney Rubble was alive and well while he rode big animals in olden times.

To be fair, the fair state of Alabama is not that better when it comes to knowledge of reality. Among Alabama Republicans, 45% believe Obama is a closet Muslim while 41% are not certain if the man in the White House is telling white lies about his religion. I hate to inform these denizens of ignorance that Jesus Christ was born a Jew, lived a Jew and died a Jew. AND, he did NOT have blond hair and blue eyes!

I frequently find myself perturbed by behaviors of those seeking the Republican nomination for president. After all, listening to a speech on any topic by the likes of Palin or Bachmann or Perry or Santorum makes one wonder if we all come from the same genetic pool. Scientists now offer an explanation of men like Gingrich or Romney. Apparently, gorillas split apart from our human ancestors and chimps about 10,000,000 years ago and about 4,000,000 years ago we humans and chimps went off on our own. We Cro-Magnons share 15% of our genome with Gorillas.

Do you now understand the Republican presidential campaign? A group who contains more than the 15% gorilla genomes has entered the Republican Party and they want to take over the human race. The problem is not gorillas rising against humans it is these half breeds who are part gorilla and part Human who seek to destroy the human race.

How else can one explain the idiotic babble of Republican candidates? Do you understand their comments are actually gorilla talk and that is why they sound as though speaking gibberish.

“You Know it’s a myth…. And you have a choice.”

I decided to ask leaders in American society about their reaction:

Mitt Romney: “I believe in God. Of course, if Atheists are going to vote, I will respect their ideas. Not that I am saying God is a myth, but a vote is a vote.”

Ron Santorum: ”I checked with God today and He informed me that He is not a myth.”

Ron Paul: “I oppose relations with any foreign groups. We Americans should mind our own business and stay out of the universe.”

Newt Gingrich: ”Of course, I was the one who created the God myth.”

Barack Obama: ”I pray every day and hopefully it is not to a myth.”

Rush Limbaugh: ”Any entity that allows Muslims and terrorists to exist in my book is a slut.”

Sarah Palin: Strange signs, I went bear hunting the other day with God.”

The guys who brought America wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are not very happy with President Barack Obama who is utilizing diplomatic approaches in order to avoid a horrendous war with Iran. Senator Mitch McDonnell, Republican leader in the US Senate condemned the president whose comments concerning work quietly “is a talking point” according to the cowboy from the US Senate and “not a policy.” McDonnell wants America to us “overwhelming force against Iran.”

Even as the brave man who never fought for his country demanded action, John McCain who has known battle urged the president to bomb Syria. Of course, such actions would result in dramatically raising gas prices. Naturally, if gas prices rose, the Republican party would blame President Obama for this problem.

As the famous British PM Winston Churchill once said, “jaw, jaw, not war, war.”

I rarely lose my temper but new remarks by Rick Santorumn reveal he is completely ignorant about American history and his knowledge of life in the 21st century suggests he would be better off in the 15th century with the Inquisition. Santorum blasted President John F. Kennedy for saying he believed in an “absolute separation” of church and state. Rick says these words made him want to “throw up.” He went on to offer a description of the United States in 1789 which bears no resemblance to the US in 1789.

“The idea that the church can have no influence or no involvement in the operation of the state is absolutely anithetical to the objectives and vision of this country.” Huh? The USA was the first nation to ban religion from controlling the state. Of course, Mr. Santorum, which “church” do you believe should be involved in the operation of the state? I guess he wants Sharia law.

Xavier Alvarez is a liar. He has claimed to be a Marine wounded in war and thus awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. The United States government argues that Mr. Alvarez by lying cheapens the meaning of the nation’s highest military award. Let me get this straight. It is now illegal to lie? How about:

1. Republicans claim President Obama was born in Africa and is a Muslim. Certainly, that lie cheapens the office of the presidency.

2. Republicans claim by firing people one creates more jobs. I think such thinking cheapens the life of millions of workers in this country.

3. Every time Rick Santorum discusses history it is one continuous lie.

If false speech is a crime, lock up the entire cadre of people running for the Republican nomination for president. Free speech means the right to lie. Free speech means the right to spout nonsense. Fifty years ago men lied about their homosexuality because if they spoke the truth, they would lose their jobs. Let us pronounce the right to LIE in order to prevent the entire group of Republican presidential candidates from going to jail.

Then again, locking them up would certainly prove a value to this nation.
