Bibi, Foreign Policy Expert?

Members of the Republican party and a lot of Democratic Senators regard Israel Prime Minister as an expert on the Middle East. Here is the record:

1. In 1992, Bibi insisted that Iran was a few years away from having an atomic bomb.

2. In 2002 Bibi insisted that America had to invade Iraq and end the menace of Saddam.

3. In 2003, Bibi insisted that Iran was a few years away from an atomic bomb.

4. When Bibi took over leadership of Israel, its closest ally was Turkey and the IDF and Turkish army units conducted joint exercises. Today, Turkey is furious at Israel due to attacks on its ships and murder of
Turkish citizens.

5. In 2010 Bibi insisted that Iran was close to having an atomic bomb.

6. Bibi believes the solution we should follow is to bomb Iran.

7. Hezbollah in Lebanon has 30,000 missiles which will be sen toward Israel in case of war.

8. The prior three heads of Mossad insist that attacking Iran would be a mistake.

So, why is Bibi an expert??

Report On Iran

Erich Follath was sent by the German newspaper, Der Spiegel, to Iran and here is his report.

1. He met many students who were listening to the Bob Dylan song, “The Times They Are Achanging.’

2. Young boys and girls walked the streets holding hands.

3. Many young girls were pushing their chador back so the boys could so the boys could see their hair.

4. He was told that “many mosques are empty but malls are packed with people.”

5. He was told never to stand by a cleric when seeking a taxi because they do not want clerics in their cab.

6. Students told him: “we have lost the world’s respect through our excesses.” He encountered clerics who said the same thing.

Students want their right to be a land in which peaceful use of atomic energy is allowed. They are proud of their country and want to live in peace with the world.

This report will never appear on Fox News!

Bibi Never Gives UP

It is understandable that Bibi Netanyahu is upset because the good old days when American forces fought and died in Iraq is no longer possible. Bibi is a fighter who never gives up regardless of the fact the guy he is fighting wants to end violence and work for peace. Of course, Bibi and his buddies in Congress are convinced that Iranians can not be trusted and the only land in the Middle East which can is ISRAEL. So, examine the record:

Israel launched an attack in 1956 against Egypt until told to stand down by President Eisenhower–a Republican.

Israel launched an attack in 1967 and won the Six Day War.

Israel invaded Lebanon in the 1980s

Israel has four times invaded the Gaza Strip.

And, violent Iran: IT HAS NEVER INVADED A MIDDLE EASTERN NATION.

Anyway, Yuval Steinitz, Israel minister strategic affairs said that military action is possible against Iran. “It was on the table. It is still on the table. It’s going to remain on the table.”More words of peace from Israel.

FINALLY A DEAL!

It is the first night of Passover and Jews who love Bibi Netanyahu and John Boehner are crying in their matzo soup. The evil one who goes by the name of Barack Obama has pulled off the impossible. Together with five other nations an agreement has been reached with Iran to end the immediate threat of a nuclear bomb race. According to Obama,”we have reached solutions monkey parameters on a joint comprehensive plan of action” I assume this means that Ted Cruz will not be leading US bombers on their flight of destruction and war. Iran has agreed to retain only one enrich meant facility and the nuclear site known as Fardo will be transformed into a scientific research lab. Naturally, this agreement to preclude an Iranian nuclear bomb upsets Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu. What now to scare Israelis with and provide Fox News with snhty heads shouting for war!

The “executive agreement between two heads of state is not a treaty and thus does not require Senate approval. It is a start. It enables the people of Iran several years in which to move toward a more democratic society. Who knows where Iran will be ten years from now. However, we can say that, for the moment, threat of war is not in the immediate present.

No News From Iran

There is no good news, there is no bad news from the negotiations with Iran over issues of nuclear weapons. Secretary of State John Kerry and his colleagues continue to talk and the Iranians continue to talk. It is clear that Iran seeks some sort of agreement in order to end its economic isolation and become part of the world economy. Iran contains a large number of well educated young people who just want to become linked to other young people and have the right to a decent job in a modern economy. They want their nation to move beyond the world of just depending upon oil for jobs and depend upon high technology and communication with other young people in the world. So, what is delaying any form of settlement of issues?

1. Iran wants an immediate end of sanctions. This will NOT occur. The Big 5 plus one demand evidence of compliance with the agreement.

2. Iran refuses to send some of its nuclear product to a safe place in another land. Kerry and the others want proof that Iran could not build a nuclear weapon within a year.

There simply is not enough trust on the part of either side. Trust is the initial issue. Iran must recognize they are not trusted and the Kerry group must recognize they are are not trusted.

Has anyone considered the idea of sending in Ted Cruz and John Boehner to demonstrate how opposing sides can work with an opposing force in a peaceful manner??

Iran, Iran, Iran

As you will recall, Republicans and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been shouting about the ill timed negotiations with the evil government of Iran. According to the Republican party, the incompetent President Barack Obama is giving into the government of Iran and thus surrendering to the forces of terror. For some reason, the offers being made to the Iran government are being refused on grounds that the so called 5 Powers plus one refuse to give into Iran demands. I do get confused. On one hand, Bibi insists we are giving into the demands of Iran while Iran insists their opponents refuse to accept their terms. Heck, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov even walked out of the room in disgust with the Iranian refusal to accept a fair plan.

Basically, Iran wants an immediate end to sanctions while the other side wants a gradual relaxation of sanctions. I wonder what next Republicans will charge Obama with doing–refusing to accept the demands of Iran??

Iran On Our Minds

The American people will know within the coming twenty four hours whether or not John Kerry and fellow negotiators have been able to convince the government of Iran to agree to a process of ensuring that nation does not proceed on the road to nuclear weapons. At this point the only Middle Eastern nation that is permitted to make nuclear weapons is Israel. After all, we know that Israel would never invade another area in the region. The only nation that is allowed to bar UN inspectors into its nuclear facilities is Israel. So, it is time for Iran NOT to follow the Israel path and open its facilities to the United Nations and not to proceed with creating nuclear weapons. I do not know if an agreement will be reached. I do know that Iran has the right to develop a nuclear industry if it is based on principles of no nuclear weapons.

Reality: at some point the world has to bestow trust on the government of Iran. The agreement, if reached, will not be perfect. That is reality. Hopefully, with economic sanctions ending and goods and trade with Iran the young people of that nation will eventually get the right to express their desires for peace and the threat of war from Iran will end.

Friends Spy On One Another?

As you will recall, members of the Republican party insist that President Barack Obama is not really a true American and he owes his allegiance to some place in Africa. As you will recall, members of the Republican party place nation before anything else. The Wall Street Journal, a newspaper who really loves Barack Obama has come out with a story which claims that the Israel government has been spying on the American government and providing members of Congress with secrets. According to the WSJ, the “spying operation was part of a broader campaign by Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to penetrate negotiations and then then build a case against terms of the deal.” I think this is not really appropriate behavior on the part of one’s ALLY!

This story indicates that Israel then provided this information to Republicans in Congress in order to assist their efforts to halt negotiations with Iran. By any standard, if a Republican obtained information about American secrets from a foreign agent, they can be placed on trial as a traitor!

Israel Government Knows How To Achieve Peace

The election in Israel is now over, but the issues which dominated that event continue to dominate the news of the Middle East. Strategic Minister Yuval Steinitz insists that Bibi Netanyahu understands how to achieve peace in the Middle East. After all, he has crushed any Palestinians who dare oppose his views of Middle Eastern issues so why does not Barack Obama accept the fact that Netanyahu is the expert on peace in that region of the world. Mr. Steinitz wants the American people to realize that in regard to current discussions with Iran about resolution of atomic energy, “we think it’s going to be a bad, insufficient deal. It seems quite probable, it will happen, unfortunately.”

OK, so assume it is a bad deal. There are times in life when one is compelled to accept a deal that may not be perfect, but it, at least for the moment resolves a problem. So, what is the Bibi alternative?

1. Bomb Iran.

2. Force Iran to bomb Israel.

3. Cause the death of thousands of Israelis.

4. Cause the death of thousands of Iranians.

5. Create complete chaos in the Middle East.

6. Unleash hundreds of suicide bombers upon the Israel people,

THAT is the alternative to a “bad deal.”

US Options In Iran??

Every so often an American leader will utter words that completely confuse this writer. CIA Director was talking with a Fox News correspondent when he said: “There are a number of things that the United States has available to it to prevent Iran from getting a bomb.” He did not clarify what he meant so we thought it would be beneficial to spell out those possible weapons we possess.

1. We can send Bill O’Reilly to Iran to write “The Killing Of The Ayatollah”

2. We can make sure that all Fox News broadcasts are heard in Iran.

3. We can send Ted Cruz on a suicide mission to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities. Remember, he is the Senator from TEXAS!

4. We can refuse to talk with any and all Iranians.

5. We can get Bibi Netanyahu to pilot an Israel suicide bomber to blow up something in Iran.

6. We can get Sheldon Adelson to spend money on a newspaper in Iran that hates the government.

7. Of course, we can always send in the Marines.

If I was the leader of Iran, I would be scared to hell!
