Copenhagen Welcomes Gays

Copenhagen has decided to market itself as a safe and comfortable place for gays. The city has a reputation for openness to those of differing backgrounds. Boe Larsen, president of the National Association of Gays and lesbians in Denmark recently said, “In relation to cities like San Francisco and Amsterdam, Copenhagen has a relatively small gay community, but the advantage is that the city is so tolerant that gays don’t have to isolate themselves like they do in other places.”
