Social workers in Helsinki are noting an ever increasing rise in the intensity of anger and recriminations during divorce procedures. Social workers are also realizing more time than ever before is now spent providing services to protect children from abuse.
There is some indication in the Helsinki report that as people marry across cultural lines, levels of anger increase during divorce. Two cultures coming together is very positive, but two cultures in disputes makes each party realize the child will be raised in a culture different from their own unless they can gain control over child custody. I suspect this increasingly will become an issue.
