Latest polls reveal that about 50% of those who term themselves to be “black Americans”or “Negroes” or whatever, oppose equal rights for gays and lesbians. Let me get this straight: we can just see Martin Luther King marching on Washington D.C. to protest granting gays equal rights! Who are these people who oppose equality for a minority group when they spent hundreds of years fighting for equal rights for themselves?
The NAACP finally came out with a clear statement about gays. “Civil marriage is a civil right.” I am old enough to remember when it was illegal for a person classified as “Negro” to marry someone classified as “white.” How can a person who is ”black” now oppose the right of marriage to anyone!!
