Best Laid Plans- Go Nowhere

The Australian government has announced a dramatic program aimed at dealing with issues of drug, alcoholic abuse, and juvenile prostitution rings in about 60 indigenous communities in the northern area of the nation. They even built a $2.5 million police station for the hordes of police who were supposed to descend on the area and enforce the clean up. Unfortunately, they forgot to send police so there is a deserted $2.5 million police station way up in the Northern Area of Australia.

I lack real knowledge of this situation, but noted most of the talk about dealing with drug and alcohol abuse revolved around sending in police. It would appear some attention ought to be made toward work and education opportunities, and, I suspect, at prevailing discrimination attitudes toward the indigenous population.
