Democratic Representative Gregg Harper is furious as the murder of a black boy who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and wound up being with the wrong person. Harper shocked members of Congress by rising, placing a hood over his head, put on dark glasses and shouted, “Racial profiling has to stop!” Naturally, such behavior aroused the George Zimmerman in members of Congress.
Republican Rep. Bobby Rush from the fair state of Mississippi was rather upset at this violation of Congressional rules. “The chair finds that the donning of a hood is not consistent with this rule. Members must remove their hoods or leave the floor.”
I am a bit confused. As I recall the fair state of Mississippi was once a major center of the Ku Klux Klan whose members went around with hoods over their heads as they gathered to hold a meeting in order to burn some dark skinned person. Was wearing the KKK hood against Congressional rules?
