Democratization Of Violence

Violence has always been an integral aspect of life on planet Earth. From the days when Cro-magnons used stones or spears or arrows in order to kill either one another or the Neanderthals, violence has been a daily occurrence among those who term themselves to be–humans. So, it is not surprising that violence is party of our daily life, and those who employ this tactic justify the murder of other life forms. However, there is now a difference in how violence is utilized. Due to advances in technology, an emergence of small sized powerful weapons of destruction just about any group can gain possession of the power to murder large numbers of people. The recent shooting down of a plane in Ukraine by a small number of men who were given access by the Russian government of a Buk missile is a vivid example of our modern capabilities for murder.

We can expect in the coming years that such powerful weapons will become smaller in size, and more powerful in consequences. The Israel government insists that it can “destroy” Hamas. Yes, today, Hamas will be enormously weakened, but tomorrow Hamas or another Muslim violent group will gain control of some weapon which can murder hundreds of Jews some place in Israel. Eventually, biological weapons will emerge to murder on a large scale. Crazies such as Hamas do not care if they kill their own people, they are engaged in a crusade to destroy Israel.

So, what is the solution to this reality? Israel, and every other nation, must work for peace with its neighbors. This will require compromise. But, without peace, enemies will eventually have the power to murder on a large scale. Sorry, Prime Minister Netanyahu, this is REALITY!
