The guns of academia are roaring at the University of Colorado. that was the institution of James Holmes, who killed and wounded dozens of people in a movie theater. One would assume that a state of college would seek to control use of firearms. Alas, such attitudes used to be normal among Americans, but today, carry your weapon to school, church, hospital, police station, the White House, it is your constitutional right to display a weapon anywhere and anytime.
U. of Colorado Professor Jerry Peterson made clear that he would not tolerate weapons in his classroom. “My own personal policy in my classes is if I am aware that there is a firearm in the class–registered or unregistered, concealed or unconcealed– the class session is immediately canceled.”
The Chancellor told the professor that it was legal in the state of Colorado for students to carry concealed weapons to class. We suggest, after learning which student has a concealed weapon, send him on an errand to the office.
