Although the Migration Board of Sweden does not consider Iraq to have a war, it continues to grant 90% of Iraqi requests for residency in Sweden. So far this year, about 20,000 Iraqis have been granted permission to immigrate to Sweden. One may ask why the United States of America is doing so little to allow Iraqi immigration. In particular, the question of Iraqis who worked for the American military continues to be a vital issue which America must address. Given violence in Iraq, they need asylum in America.
