Swedish Magician Apologizes For Anti-Semitic, Anti-Gay Comments

Swedish magician Joe Labero admitted he made remarks in an interview that were “stupid, groundless and badly thought through.” In an interview with Kupe magazine he said it was difficult for a “blond Swedish Viking” to break through in Los Angeles because it was controlled by “Jewish business interests, American dollar millionaires and homosexual booking agents.”

After receiving angry comments in the Swedish press for his comments, Mr. Labero said, “I want to ask everyone I hurt for forgiveness…Everyone has a right to make a mistake. This was a big mistake on my part. To be honest, I don’t understand why I did what I did. Looking at it afterwards in print, it’s incomprehensible.”

Actually, I doubt if one in a million Americans ever heard of Joe, let alone knew he was a blond Swedish Viking, so it is difficult offering forgiveness to someone who said something you know nothing about and couldn’t care less about. The only part I find confusing is why does he separate “Jewish business interests” from “American dollar millionaires?” I would think he believes all Jews are millionaire businessmen. To tell you the truth Joe, I will sleep peacefully tonight knowing I have your apology. As the little boy inquired of Shoeless Joe Jackson, the great outfielder, upon learning he had bet on games, “say it ain’t so Joe, say it ain’t so.”
