The ruling Labor Party of Norway is split over the issue of immigration much as is occurring within the United States. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg is arguing refugees from Afghanistan who are seeking refuge in Norway have nothing to worry about if they return home. Even the conservative Bishop; of Oslo, Ole Kvarme, is telling the prime minister his comment makes no sense given that three million have already fled their homeland.
It is interesting that the Socialist left wing of the Labor Party, particularly younger members are fighting for rights of refugees. About a hundred Afghan refugees are currently camped out in front of the Norwegian Parliament seeking asylum. Norway, is merely one of many nations, confronting issues of world wide migration of people.
