Tsvangirai Calls For Africa To Solve Zimbabwe Problems

Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the Movement for Democratic Change(MDC) in Zimbabwe, called for African nations to step in and help end the impasse in his country that has been caused by the refusal of President Mugabe to accept a sharing of power after he stole the presidential election in June. MDC spokesperson, George Sibotshiwe said: “the Zimbabwean issue is far from resolved ands so the continent as a whole has a responsibility to continue to engage with us in finding solutions.” Most observers believe Mugabe just will not surrender meaningful power because he and his clique have too much to lose if an honest government assumes power.

The dilemma for Mugabe is without assent by Tsvangirai he cannot access billions of dollars in foreign aid. His dilemma is maintaining the status quo and watching his nation sink even further into disaster or accept power sharing and have his friends possibly lose money.

Your writing skills are atrocious. What makes your blog any different from reading something from CNN or Maclean’s. It’s biased, and it might as well be Right wing. I don’t see the difference, and neither did the other user on your article about Fernando Lugo. I can respect your opinion, yet you should really try and come accross somewhat less biased if you expect anyone to take you seriously. I don’t discredit your knowledge of any situation, though you fail to cite any sources. Yet still, I believe you have a misguided and a confused view which leads you to support the institution which as Kwame Nkrhumah stated “operate to impoverishment.”

Huh? Are you defending the tyrant Robert Mugabe? if so, you insult anyone who claims to have progressive ideas!

Your blog depicts Wealth over the Welfare of the people. You are as much for Corporate Globalization as a Conservative Think-tank. I respect your statistics, and your campaign of awareness in terms of poverty reduction, however, I think you should try and examine people such as Robert Mugabe and Hugo Chavez in their own context, instead of applying a Western Capitalist belief system unto them.

please study the history of Pan Africanism. The goal was creating a democratic Africa, not one run by thugs and thieves like Mugabe. He has destroyed the economy of a once vibrant nation. If he is so great as you claim, why have over two million fled Zimbabwe? Will you blame the “colonists” for that? Stop living in rhetoric and think about the ordinary people of Zimbabwe, How about the beatings and killings of innocent people by the two bit thugs who run the nation. If you actually believed in “the people”for a moment, you would seek to have Mugabe removed.

If the MDC power, the potential wealth of Zimbabwe is exported, enriching other nations, not Zimbabwe. Therefore, conditions for people do not improved. The situation in Zimbabwe is invoked by foreign powers, being a landlocked countries surrounded by states which have fallen into line with the West is the situation, which results in an almost impossible struggle for Robert Mugabe and the people of Zimbabwe, nations like Cuba and Venezuela have a greater chance because of their geopolitical position, Zimbabwe however does not. Does it ever occur to you, that the people of Africa deserve the same freedom that the Western world has, the freedom to govern or misgovern one’s self. I’m sure you’ll agree, there has been a lot of misgovernment in the past, and if you look at voter representation, these leaders are not supported by the majority anyway.

Look, the reality is, it’s impossible to prevent the societal degradation in the face of western intervention, look at other nations that have been threatened by the west, and prior to that were in fact doing quite well. Land redistribution was a bold move, and Mugabe is facing the wrath of Western nations. You should not dare call yourself left-wing, you’re right wing American. When people in the world put up “Yankee Go Home” They mean you!!!

The British left thirty years ago and your tyrannical friend, Robert Mugabe ran the nation. It went from a fairly prosperous nation into one in which over TWO MILLION HAVE FLED, and recent reports are that FIVE MILLION FACE STARVATION. In your demented mind, it is all the fault of white former colonists. You remind me of Marxists in 1933, who said, let Hitler gain power because he will lead to destruction and the people will turn to us. Do you ever in your mind which is filled with rhetoric ever think about the people of Zimbabwe?

You’re a reactionary, and your blog is a joke. Shut up about social justice, because Africa hasn’t received any!
