The Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who has spent his life fighting for the rights of poor African Americans on the south side of Chicago, will retire to the serenity of a million dollar home located in a town whose African American population is about 2%. The mansion is nestled next to a golf course and the Odyssey Country Club. It is a 10,400 square-foot brick and stone residence. It contains a butler’s pantry, a four-car garage, a rubberized exercise room, whirlpool, a large family room with a fireplace and bar, and a spare room which can be converted to a theater or a small swimmiing pool.
As I recall, Malcolm X spent his life in a normal size middle class home and never sought the trappings of power. He lived as he preached.
