A high-ranking Copenhagen police officer has been arrested and charged with attempting to solicit a sexual relationship with a minor after making explicit comments to a reporter from Ekstra Bladet newspaper who was posing as a 13 year-old girl. Three months ago the reporter placed a profile on the Internet calling herself Baby May and putting up a picture of herself when she was thirteen. The reporter and the policeman “chatted” over a three month period during which time he mentioned his desire to “hug and squeeze” her and wouldn’t it be nice if she wore a nightgown without anything on beneath it. They finally met and the reporter confronted him with the truth. The policeman sent an email to the newspaper claiming he had not done anything wrong and would sue if they claimed he did.
One can assume as part of his defense, the police officer will claim he was posing as a sexual molester to catch unsuspecting thirteen year olds who wanted to have sex with older men. Thus, he can claim, he was preventing not solciting sexual favors. And, what exactly is wrong with hugging and squeezng children, he simply wanted to show he had warmth and comfort to offer?
Perhaps, the officer can initiate a new approach to capturing criminals, become the criminal and commit the criminal act which eliminates searching for criminals since you are the person being sought. It could save money and time.
