A booby trap bomb exploded in housing for coast guard personnel in Algeria resulting in the death of at least 28. A new group which calls itself, Al-Qaeda of North Africa is most probably responsible for the explosion. Algeria has been quiet for several months after experiencing a twenty year civil war between the secular army and Islamic groups. The war led to the death of over 200,000 people.
