A Tale of Two Newspapers

The Jerusalem Post version of the behavior of Hamas in the Gaza strip clashed fundamentally with the story in Sunday’s New York Times. The Times story emphasized that Hamas had established stability in the area, ended crime and drugs, and was treating Fatah members with respect. According to today’s Jerusalem Post story Hamas is pushing people around and acting as a bully. Both newspapers describe a wedding. The Times story says Hamas asked members of the wedding party to cease firing weapons while the Jerusalem Post said Hamas began “clubbing guests, hurling chairs, and leaving one man unconscious.”

I wasn’t present at this incident. But, apparently two newspapers have contrasting views.
