The Veterans Administration has some good news for those considering selves to be gays or lesbians. VA Secretary Eric Shinseki announced that any gay or lesbian who dies will be allowed to have their spouse buried next to her or him. I guess this is good news knowing the next burial spot contains a loved one. Then again, once one is dead conversations sort of conclude and silence reigns. We fight so hard for rights that are truly rights, but, frankly, they do not right the reality that life is over. Frankly, whoever wants to take the slot next to me, is permitted to do so.
Once death arrives issues such as gay rights end. That is the reality of life and death. There is a point at which silence reigns.
