Assad Remains In Power

British Prime Minister David Cameron admitted the reality of Syria. He made clear his government would not send lethal weapons to Syrian opponents of President Bashar al-Assad. As he put it rather quaintly, all too many of those fighting the Syrian government “include a lot of bad guys.” Islamic fundamentalists are not rated any different by Cameron from those who compose the present government of Syria. England will restrict itself to non-lethal assistance. We assume that is not very different from what President Obama will allow sent to a conglomerate of Islamists, secularists and those who simply hate Assad.

There arrive moments in life when simply the alternatives are not that different. One can oppose the brutal regime of Assad or one can oppose the brutal regime that will follow under the leadership of those who hate infidels and reject democracy for any other than a dedicated jihadist. The choice is clear-there is no choice.
