The United States government has turned over to its Afghan allies control over Bagram detention prison in Afghanistan. It is simply one more of a series of prisons established by the Bush administration in order to detain people charged with something. The Afghan army is happy and General Gulam Farouk said “today is one proud day.” Let me get this clear, it is now a “proud day” because Afghans, instead of Americans can abuse prisoners and retain in prison those charged with a crime.
Of course, it was in Bagram prison some idiot told American officials there were dozens of books in the library that enacted violence. This resulted in the burning of Korans, the violent book. Somehow, the US got through World War II without creating such infamous prisons for Nazi or Japanese prisoners. Wonder why??
