It was not so long ago that the Turkish Justice and Development Party was in the minority and encountered police and military persecution. One would assume that those who were oppressed for speaking aloud their concerns would naturally be sensitive to the desires of those today who oppose a government they believe denies them their rights. Alas, that was then, today is now.
Students at a Turkish university in the province of Sansum has the audacity to protests against a the visiting Minister of Sports and Youth, Suat Kilnic, which led police and security folk to make sport with their bodies. They were beaten and arrested for daring to express their views. The AKP once belonged to protesting youth, today they beat the hell out of protesting youth. How times have changed!
