One can only wonder why Israel political leaders have failed to study the disastrous invasion of Iraq by the Bush administration or at least opened a study about the Israel invasion of Lebanon. American and other major powers are working with Iranian leaders in an effort to avoid military tactics being employed to deal with the threat of further nuclear weapons in the world. Of course, to Bibi and Ehud Barak, “a nuclear Iran is intolerable and no options should be taken off the table.”
First of all, a nuclear Iran is NOT intolerable anymore than is a nuclear France or nuclear Japan. The issue is nuclear weapons, not nuclear power. Major powers have persuaded Iran to allow inspectors to be present. This is an important FIRST STEP. Patience and tough minded negotiations can avoid development of nuclear weapons by Iran. The worse case scenario for Israel is using force when diplomacy MIGHT work.
As the great WWII British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, once said: “Jaw, jaw, not war, war.” Sound advice
