The British government has made it clear that Prime Minister Gordon Brown will not attend the upcoming European Union/Africa summit if Robert Mugabe, dictator of Zimbabwe, is present. African leaders have expressed the view that all African nations should be allowed to attend.
The problem is failure on the part of African leaders to pay any attention to the plight of people in Zimbabwe. The inflation rate has hit 7500% and unemployment is now about 80% of the population but African leaders refuse to take any action other than to express support for Mugabe. Brown is right, boycott such meetings until African leaders begin to act in a moral manner.
