When I was a boy growing up in the 1930s, newspapers would often draw pictures of a bridge of the future that crossed the Atlantic Ocean so I have a fascination with long bridges. China just built a 22.5 mile bridge across Hangzhou Bay — a distance equal to building a bridge from England to France. I feel like saying, Wow!
Does one get the impression that once America built the “largest” or “longest” thing but those days have ended? I wonder why?
