Senator Kent Conrad and some of his associates are concerned that the Supreme Court declared unconstitutional laws that made lying about serving in the US armed forces. He wants a new Military Service Integrity Act which would be an end run against the Court ruling. I think Conrad has a good idea. How about making illegal lying in Congress? You know, the stuff about Obama being a Muslim born in Kenya or Death Panels in the new health care law. Or, how about lying concerning supporting legislation in order to get money from lobbyists?
I term the new law: Congressional Service Integrity Act. If this was passed the halls of Congress would be empty except for a few souls who actually have some integrity.
