Most probably the people of Syria would welcome a death holiday. Three suicide car bombs supported by mortar attacks ripped through a Syrian government controlled area of Alleppo. The rebel attack most probably killed military officers and their families. Government sources said the suicide bombers hit the main square which is lined with military clubs and hotels and offices. As rescue workers attempted to aid the wounded, they were themselves fired upon by mortar attacks.
Even as this episode impacted the government, reports emerged that Syrian artillery blasted away in Turkey. President Assad is growing angry and confused. He even brought in Hezbollah forces who soon found themselves in battle and several were killed.
The unanswered question is: How many must die before Assad finally agrees to depart.
