During World War II, the people of Denmark rallied together in order to save Jewish Danes from death a the hands of Germans. Fast forward sixty years and today, the Danish government is suggesting to Jews they avoid letting the world know they are Jews! Israel’s ambassador, Arthur Avon is advising any Jew who happens to be visiting or living in Denmark not to wear any kippah or sign of Judaism when out in public. Police have advised Jews not to act very Jewish or look very Jewish when in Muslim or Middle Eastern neighborhoods.
City Councillor Lars Asian Rasmussen took another attitude. “We need to direct our efforts tackling anti-semitism toward the Muslim communities.” If any group should be concerned with prejudice it should be Muslims!
