Thousands of Egyptian women are in the streets of Cairo filled with fury at the continued assault upon females by members of the nation’s armed forces. As they marched, women held up signs which depict females being beaten, assaulted and stripped of clothes by soldiers who are using batons upon their bodies. The entire nation was shocked when a video captured a woman being beaten by soldiers, her clothes ripped off revealing her bra and then a soldier stomped on her body.
Marchers chanted, “Down With Military Rule” and “Egyptian Girls are Red Line.” Naturally, military authorities affirmed their respect for women. Why is it that after beating the hell out of girls, members of the military express regret that someone beat females? It was interesting that pictures of women marching revealed those without a chador and those with western style hair. Women are united in Egypt.
