Facebook last week was heralded as the $100 billion company that was destined to make many people instant millionaires or at least, make a lot of people thousands of bucks. Within a week it has gone from $35 a share to $29 a share which means the company is now worth about $75 billion. I am certain those who run this wonderful company are still worth a lot of moola.
The unanswered question is why did anyone believe a company whose product is sharing of trivia would amount to anything other than some more trivia? Facebook is among the most boring products in existence. People share what they ate today, what they wore, and definitely share pictures of their cute children. There is no intelligent discussion about anything other than the most trivial aspect of life.
Frankly, this will be a better and more intelligent world if Facebook faced itself out.
