It is perfectly OK in the state of Virginia to be gay, that is, to laugh and to giggle and to have a good time, but, it is not gay to be gay. Tracy Thorne-Begland, an outstanding lawyer had his name recommended to become a district judge, and although he received 33-31 votes in the General Assembly, the governor did not think it gay to select an openly gay person. Among complaints was that he would be prejudiced on cases dealing with gay defendants.
Let me get this straight, if one is pro-business, then one is NOT prejudiced when cases come before the bar. If one is pro-Christianity, then one is NOT prejudiced if a defendant is Christian. I get it, the concept of “prejudice” does not come into play until you display signs of being a gay person!
