Gay Times In Maryland

The state of Maryland witnessed several couples getting married on the morning of January 1, 2013. They were married in a normal Christian ceremony in which a minister handled the proceedings. But, for the people of Maryland, having two men or two women getting married was now legal, even though it was woman with woman and man with man. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Bake hailed these marriages as marking a new era in which people can marry one another without having the government get in their way.

A mystery of life is why members of the Republican party which insists that government has no right to interfere with people having guns or with their right to take a gun anywhere they damn well please do not accord similar rights to men and women to decide who they marry without interference by government. When it comes to gay rights, Republicans stand for government telling one what to do.
