Most modern people in advanced industrial societies will gladly support the concept that women should be treated equally with men although in most nations females earn less than do men doing similar jobs. The European Commission approved a draft law that would create a gender quota for non-executive directors of stock listed companies in Europe. There had been prior ideas for complete equity in all facets of corporations, but this was considered too radical for a world in which men still dominate the business world.
Ironically, German Chancellor Angela Merkel opposes such laws, after all, she made it to the top without any legal right to become head of Germany. Reality in America, the land of supposed equity, the overwhelming number of top CEOs remain of the male gender. If the old boys network works, why create an old gals network is still a predominant view.
