During World War II, General George Marshall who headed the US Army was concerned about the impact upon generals who spent months in the front lines(yes, in those days Generals actually were under fire) and daily confronted emotional and physically stress. He frequently arranged a weekend leave for those officers in Washington D.C. where they were met by their wives for a few days of sex and love. During the past eight years at least eighteen generals and admirals have been relieved from duty due to a sexual related issue.
General Jeffrey Sinclair is facing a court martial after being relieved from duty in Afghanistan on charges of sodomy, adultery and pornography. Over the past eight years approximately 30% of commanders have been removed from their positions due to sexually related offenses. Perhaps, it is time to return to the General Marshall approach.
