In a recent report, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has indicated Hungary now has the greatest disparity between wealthy and poor among thirty nations surveyed.
I don’t know if this news is good or bad, since it doesn’t confront the reality that in America disparity in income levels continues to widen. Our national tax policies certainly favor the wealthy and oppress the poor. For example, if someone owns a home they deduct mortgage payment from taxes, but if one rents there is no tax deduction. How come?
