HEADLINES FROM THE WORLD PRESS

January 6th, 2010 by Fred Stopsky · No Comments

Each day we offer a sample of headlines that appeared in the world press along with our comments.

Kuwait, Kuwait Times: “Obama Vows To Hunt Extremists”
I assume this hunt will be similar to the Bush claim of bin Laden, dead or alive.

USA, Stars & Stripes: “Charlie Sheen Wants To Reconcile”
With whom? His wife who fled his knife assault?

Australia, Brisbane Times: “Call To Halt School Building”
First we halt building schools, then we halt having babies.

Denmark, Copenhagen Post: “Rid City Of Cars”
Easy, just rid city of people.

South Africa, Argus: “Cops Arrested For Theft”
They were caught in the act by criminals.

Oman, Gulf Times: “Disability Not Handicap For Him”
Heck, George Bush was mentally retarded and he became president.

UK, The Independent: “Catalonia Votes To Ban Bullfighting”
Sounds like a lot of bull to me.

Sweden, The Local: “Police Capture Left Shoe Thieves”
I assume they gave the thieves the boot.

Turkey, Hurriyet: “Train Crash Kills Engine Driver”
The engine is doing well and will recover.

China, China Daily: “China Extends Alert Against Cold Weather”
Sounds like a lot of hot air to me.
