I Would Give My Kingdom For Jobs!

President Obama promised the American people he would “do everything I can to accelerate our progress so we’re actually adding jobs again.” He just concluded a job growth conference which, unfortunately, did not add any new jobs for the unemployed, but it did allow those with jobs to get a nice trip to Washington D.C. where they discussed the fact we have to add new jobs. I must agree with President Obama about the need for such a conference, after all, he has to find out the nation lacks jobs and what better way than to call a conference of the employed!

In March, 1933, President Roosevelt took office with over 25% without jobs. By July, two million of those people were working-building roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and other important facilities. They were hired by the Federal government to work. This nation needs over a 150,000 bridges repaired, it could use thousands of day care centers for children, it needs high speed trains in every major city, etc.. I offer these ideas even though I did not attend any conference.

A new Obama slogan– No more eloquence, just JOBS!
