A perusal of the Internet during the past few days reveals numerous sick individuals who consider the killer of ten students in Finland to be a hero in their eyes. “I love this day! I love it!” declared one Internet writer. This individual also praises Pekka-Eric Auvinen who killed children last year and agrees that humans are overrated and proclaiming his support for natural selection. There are currently numerous groups which share admiration for the killers and, in some twisted manner somehow glory in a killer who kills unarmed people, many of whom are their own age. On video of Pekka-Eric Auvinen, says, “they all had much courage– if we want our community to change, we need to hear their ideas.”
Some websites have decided to economically benefit from mass murder, and one now sells T shirts featuring a picture of Mattti Saari. There are currently online communities which are linked and they share common admiration for the Columbine killers as well as the Finnish killers.
There is nothing surprising or unique in these mentally ill individuals. They have existed in every generation and, most probably, will emerge in the coming years to champion another killer.
