Iran To Stone To Death Nine Accused Of Adultery

Eight women and one man have been convicted of adultery in modern Iran and are set to be stoned to death in accordance with the law. Shadi Sadr, an Iranian women right’s activist said the executions may come at any time despite the fact six of those convicted were not subject to a trial by jury nor were they allowed to summon witnesses or have a lawyer present during their alleged “confessions.” A judge decided their guilt. “We are trying to stop the implementation of their verdicts, “said Sadr, “and secondly, we want to amend the country’s penal law in which death by stoning is prescribed.”

Under Iran’s Islamic laws, adultery is the only capital offence punishable by stoning. Other capital offences include murder, rape, armed robbery, apostasy, blasphemy, drug trafficking, prostitution, treason and espionage. There are reformers in the Iranian parliament who seek to end the stoning to death punishment. One can not escape noticing that eight of the accused were women and one was a man. Are we to assume, Iranian married men rarely engage in sexual extra-curricular sex experiences?

There is nothing someone on the outside can say concerning this barbaric practice because those who rule Iran in the name of God and mercy apparently have never prayed to God for mercy.
