As the reader will recall, once upon a time, a long, long time ago there was some fighting in a country named, Iraq. As the reader will recall, a long, long time ago, three wise men from the west came to the Middle East bearing gifts for the people of Iraq. As the reader will recall, the wise men were named, Cheney/Rumsfeld/Bush and there gifts were sort of explosive and a few hundred thousand people were forced to accept these gifts which sort of blew people up. But, one day, the wise man named George Bush sent a wonderful general named, Petraeus and he destroyed all the bad people and the story concluded with happy people in Iraq finally being able to live in peace and quiet.
Well, that is not exactly how the story concluded. Nuri al-Maliki, a Shiite became head of Iraq and proceeded to make life miserable for Sunni leaders who had worked with the United States to end the power of al-Qaeda. Two years under the rule of Maliki resulted in return of al-Qaeda and since the beginning of this year it also resulted in the death of thousands in Iraq. Prime Minister Maliki is in America seeking help. Actually, the best help he can obtain is to bring into the government Sunni leaders, cease discriminating against Sunnis and, just perhaps, violence will end.
