Each day brings forth another story which challenges the idea there is a nation with the name of Pakistan. The Supreme Court of that nation ruled that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani violated the Constitution by refusing to ask Switzerland to reopen a corruption case against former President Zardari. Gilani was barred from being an MP because he violated the law against making nasty remarks about the Supreme Court. Of course, Supreme Court Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry just heard a case involving his son who was accused of corruption. For some reason, that does not violate the Constitution.
The secret intelligence, the ISI, receives money from the US to fight the Taliban and al-Qaeda, but it simply takes the American money and helps the Taliban who are supposedly the enemy. Of course, the main body of the Pakistan armed force is stationed for a war against India that never will be fought. One is left wondering if anyone is in charge of this country who makes the slightest bit of common sense.
