Israel Court Rejects Punishment For Murder

In 2003,  activists went to Israel in order to protest the destruction of Palestinian homes by the Israel Defense Force. Among them was Rachel Corrie who believed it was her moral duty to take a stand against the ongoing violation of Palestinian rights. Her group of activists believed in peaceful demonstrations, they did not throw stones or commit any violent action.

Rachel was crushed to death by an IDF bulldozer. The driver claimed he never saw her and it was an accident. Judge Oded Gershon ruled her death was the “result of an accident she brought on herself.” I doubt if the Israel soldier meant to kill Rachel, but the only “accident” in this event stemmed from the decision by the Israel army to destroy homes of innocent people.
