Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta offered some sound advice to the Israel government by citing their growing isolation in the world. He agrees that the Israel army is more powerful than other armed forces in the region, but raises an interesting question. “But the question I ask is: is it enough to maintain a military edge if you’re isolating yourself in the diplomatic arena? A great question to which the current Israel government cannot answer.
Naturally, people like Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman argue it is not his nation’s fault for the isolation but it is caused by growing radicalism in the region. Panetta argues “at this dramatic time in the Middle East, when there have been so many changes, it’snot a good situation to become increasingly isolated. And that’s what’s happening.”
Sorry, Leon, the arrogant leaders of Israel believe the world is wrong and they are right.
