Jean-Claude Juncker has been around for almost two decades and was going strong as the longest elected prime minister in the world. He led Luxembourg for a mighty long time and enjoyed the good life. Alas, once again secret service folk did in a politician who could not keep up with their plots and plans for dealing with terrorism or spies or whatever. It turns out the secret service of Luxembourg kept secret files on thousands of people and even secretly taped conversations with their prime minister. The SREL did illegal wire taps and ran a fictional counter-terrorism operation that really was a front that allowed a Russian billionaire to launder his money.
So, Mr. Juncker must go. He resigned. Next time he talks with the head of SREL it would be cautious to check the wrist watch of this guy-it has a tape recorder built in.
