It was simply another dull day in the lives of American soldiers stationed at Forward Operation Base, Salerno near the city of Khost in eastern Afghanistan. Undoubtedly, many soldiers were swapping stories, reading letters from home or surfing the Internet. Suddenly, a truck came into view, it hit the barricades and exploded. No American soldiers were killed or wounded, but at least several Afghan workers died together with a dozen who were wounded.
The blast was followed by a Taliban attack which left about a dozen warriors dead. Another day, some more deaths, some more wounded, some more Afghan families without a father, just another day in which Muslims die. One is left to wonder how Muslim religious leaders view these deaths? Are they disturbed that Muslims kill Muslims? Oh well, just another day in Afghanistan.
