Libby Gets Bush Pardon

President Bush, who as Governor of Texas stated he never lost a night’s sleep over sending a prisoner to his death, commuted the sentence of G. Gordon Libby. The former Cheney protege will pay a $25,000 fine and do two years of probation.

I believe this is an example of “compassionate conservatism.” If you are a loyal conservative no prison sentence is too difficult to be terminated. If you are a poor man unjustly accused of a crime, you can guarantee your life will be terminated.
