The select committee of Parliament which heard testimony from James Murdoch and his former editor of News of he World and former top legal adviser came away with two versions of the truth. Colin Meyler, former editor, insists he told James Murdoch about secret phone hacking and other legally dubious activities, but Murdoch claims innocence. According to Meyler “my evidence to the select committee has been entirely accurate and consistent.” However, Murdoch claims the man he once hired is a liar.
It is expected the select committee will issue a report that terms James Murdoch to be ill informed and rather incompetent as a head of the Murdoch empire. It is impossible at this time to prove he lied so they will let him off the hook with a statement that characterizes him as among the least informed CEOs in human history!
