No Gay Time For Obama

President Obama became the first American chief executive to support equal rights for gays and lesbians. One would assume this would result in respect and support from gay and lesbians in America. First, it came out the prospective Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made anti-gay remarks about ten years ago and his comments are being used by Republicans–who opposed gay marriage–in order to stand politically correct against being anti-gay. Now, the Rev. Louie Giglio of the Passion City Church in Atlanta is being forced to remove himself from giving the benediction at the inaugural ceremony.

Fifteen years ago, Giglio cited scripture and described gays and lesbians as being a sinful relationship that  was an abomination to all Americans. He advocated therapy for homosexuals. Reality, is that many Americans, including me, once held negative attitudes toward homosexuals. We have changed. Evaluate Giglio in 2013 not Giglio in 1988. Who you are today is the only important issue.
