Austan Gooisbee, head of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, assures the American people there is no economic crisis. He is upset because some economists and ordinary people expressed concern over only adding 54,000 jobs in the private sector during the month of May. “We should not have a sense of panic from one month’s job numbers, not should we be having a sense of panic, in general.” After all, he pointed out, the US economy gained 1,000,000 new jobs in six months, so why the outcry? He also notes the projection of his council was for a 9.3% unemployment rate this year and it is ONLY 9.1%! Thus far, says the employed man, we have been “somewhat significantly ahead of that forecast.” This could only be stated by an EMPLOYED person who makes a few hundred thousand dollars a year and is probably worth a few million.

During the 1990s the US economy was gaining a million jobs a year. Today, there are at least 17,000,000 unemployed or underemployed people and most have not worked for months, if not a few years. For some unknown reason, these people are quick to get upset at lack of money. After all, if they had been more prudent and gone to Harvard and gotten a good job, they would not be unemployed. THE COMMENT BY GOOISBEE IS DISGRANCEFUL!

I do not recall candidate Obama promising we would ONLY have an unemployment rate of 9.1%. THIS IS SIMPLY ONE MORE EXAMPLE OF BARACK OBAMA’S LACK OF CONCERN FOR JOBLESS PEOPLE.

Oh, I forgot who Booisbee is. “I have a Ph.D. in economics.” Sir, you can take that Ph.D. but when trying to buy milk, it still costs two bucks a half gallon!!
